Jesse from Fox Hollow Farm will be here to teach us the ins and outs of mushroom growing. Each participant will be trained in inoculating shiitakes using 4 different techniques (totems, sawdust with fancy tools, sawdust with basic tools, and plugs). We will also talk about harvesting the wood, timing of harvest, care of the logs, harvesting, etc. Everyone will get to take home 3 finished mushroom logs. Additional finished mushroom logs will be available for purchase for $25 each. The cost of the class is $80. This class will be outside and you will get dirty, please dress accordingly.
