Have you ever wanted to raise your own meat? In this one night class you will learn the basics of how to grow a few chickens for the freezer in your own urban backyard. We will be covering: chick rearing, feed recipes, pasture/day-ranging and butchering options including home processing.

Have you ever wanted to raise your own meat chickens? In this morning workshop you will learn the basics of how to grow meat broilers for the freezer in your own urban backyard. We will be covering: chick rearing, feed recipes, health and well being, pasture/day-ranging and butchering options including home processing.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an online class. We will be using Zoom, a free app meeting service, featuring slides and discussion. you willl need an audio and video connection. Course materials will be available on Google Drive for download to your devices. Cost is $20 per household. Register with City Folks Farm Shop, Columbus, Ohio.
Denise Beno has kept chickens for over 20 years. She is former organic egg farmer and
has served as board member for the American Pastured Poultry Producers Association. Denise currently
works for Park Street Poultry and Game in the North Market, Columbus, Ohio.
