Local Ordinances

In Franklin County, Ohio, in places where local ordinances do not supersede, chickens may be kept on residential property. Permits are required and other conditions do apply. The following PDFs may help in your chicken keeping venture:

It is important to be aware of laws/ordinances in your municipalities within the county. Most add stipulations to Franklin County’s regulations, and some make keeping chickens illegal within their borders.

Residents of Clintonville, where City Folk’s Farm Shop is located, are subject to the Columbus City Department of Public Health Standards for Animal Care and permitting process led by the city veterinarian.
